John Kerry spoke today in front of a House Committee asserting that an IS group is purposely committing genocide to Christians throughout Syria and Iraq. The statement doesn’t obligate the US to ramp up operations in theater but all signs possibly point to that happening.
The House earlier this week passed a nonbinding resolution by a 393-0 vote condemning IS atrocities as genocide.
“In my judgment Daesh is responsible for genocide against groups in territory under its control” Kerry said, using the Arabic acronym for the Islamic State group.

The last time we pointed a finger was 2002 when we needed a reason to go to Iraq. Weapons of mass destruction were purportedly said to have been in hand by Saddam and his military but were never found at the time. Later on in 2015, we would learn that not all of them had been accounted for according to a source that the CIA had secretly bought and destroyed their WMDs.
I don’t doubt that ISIS is targeting Christians. They want us to get wrapped up in another ground war on their turf. We’re smarter than that though. ISIS is like the ugly girl in the bar trapping you into a drink with her; you know you shouldn’t but it’s hard to resist your old ways of getting dirty.
